Figure Project
Final Project
Questions:
1. When is comes to drawing, I don't tend to enjoy creating figure drawings. I do enjoy drawing parts of a person such as eyes so I knew I would want to either do my artwork around that idea or a more abstract approach. I chose to do my project on an eye with a lot of detail but with a twist. I looked on pinterest for eye drawing ideas and decided to use that inspiration and add many different colors throughout the piece.
2. My favorite mediums to work in are prisma colored pencils and paint. My choice after planning out sketches was an eye, so I decided on a size that was large enough to show the detail in the eye. Since I chose to work in prisma colored pencils, the size of the paper is a little bit smaller than what I would've chosen for a canvas size if I painted my piece. I built the colors up to create shadows and show the individual strokes and details.
3. For my final, I chose to use lighter colors compared to my sketches. I also had the eyes be more of a light pink color instead of the darker pinks and reds I used in the sketch. I think that these decisions helped the final piece look more realistic as well as more appealing to look at. Prisma colored pencils can be somewhat of a forgiving medium, so if I added a color that I didn't like, I was able to build on top of that color with others.
4. I want the viewer to notice the several different colors I used throughout my piece. Along with that, I would want them to notice the separate strokes to create the realistic look of the iris.
