For the topic of the environment, I chose to draw a tree and add a twist. I found a design on google images of a heart with a tree in the middle. This helped my idea of the environment being happy and something we need to take care of. To add more color to the drawing, I decided to add leaves with fall colors along with a light blue background. I feel all the colors tied together very well to create this bright, fun drawing.

Questions:
1. I chose the 5 artworks because I enjoy using a variety of color with colored pencils. The blending of the colors in the sunset drawing I really enjoyed, to make the sunset look more realistic since the drawing was based on a picture I have taken. My drawing of Mickey Mouse with a twist of being a cat, the shape of Mickey Mouse I found very close to the original image, just added are ears and a tail to look like a cat as well. The key that has cutouts of trees I enjoyed creating to make a form of an illusion and the background had the fading of the green from the trees. The Mickey Mouse head had inside, symbols representing characters that are Disney related to tie the whole artwork to represent Walt Disney. The final artwork I chose was a tree in which I decided to add a twist of a heart in the middle of the tree along with bright colors for the leaves around the tree. Along with the bright fun colors to surround the tree, I decided to use a cool color for the background in which I used a light blue. All these artworks were based off pictures that I got my ideas from since I find myself having an easier time at creating artwork when having a reference image. With these 5 artworks, I was able to show my ability to draw animated images to drawing real life pictures that were taken. The one I found myself enjoying the most has to be my Mickey Mouse since I enjoy drawing cartoon characters out of all things to draw.
2. The artwork I am most proud of has to be my sunset that I drew based off of a picture that I took. The layering of the colors to create the sunset blended very well. The contrast between the bright colors to create the sunset and the dark colors of the water and the grass together at the bottom really ties the artwork together. One of my goals for this class was to learn to blend colors and still look good and not in a way sloppy. The colors of the sunset blended very well and there were no harsh lines showing the transition of the colors.
3.The skills I used in my final artwork was the use of balance for the background surrounding the bird. I made sure to create a balance of the flowers used around the bird. The shading of the bird I had the actual body of the bird to be a light purple but around the end of the tail and along with the beak I decided to use a darker purple. I was searching images on google for different types of flowers I could draw for my final and saw a picture of a bird and flowers surrounding it. I decided to take the two ideas of using a bird and flowers to create a final artwork. I kept looking up different types of flowers to draw to surround the bird. I tried to keep equal space away from the bird, so flowers were surrounding equally and so the bird would be the main focal point in the drawing. The scale was not realistic because I wanted to make the bird along with the flowers about the same size, having the bird a little bit bigger since I want the focus to be there. The flowers surrounding the bird I used different shapes to create a difference in the background and not be completely the same all around. This artwork shows how throughout my artwork, I have been able to find colors that contrast with each other well. Along with that, my skills with drawing flowers have become more realistic and accurate than before.
4. What I liked about art 1 was the ability to work on whatever type of art you wanted to work on. My focus I chose was drawing and coloring using colored pencils which I was able to do throughout the class. Personally, I really enjoy the layout of the class but if I had to change something I would possibly add more drawing and less clay just because I don't really enjoy clay.
